“ | I reached for the headpiece of a Donald Duck costume and carefully removed it so the thing wouldn't fall apart in my hands.
As I looked into the face of the wide-eyed, moldering head, a loud clattering sound made me jump with fright. I looked down at my feet, and there between my shoes was a human skull. It had fallen out of the mascot head and shattered into pieces at my feet; only the empty face and lower jaw remained, staring up at me. |

Disembodied, also known as Donald Duck by the fans, is an iconic Disney character, and a minor antagonist in the game Abandoned: Discovery Island.
Appearance
Disembodied is portrayed as just a disembodied head, hence his name. Unlike Acephalous, Disembodied doesn't have any body, most likely due to the story this game is based on. His head depicts eyes but they are pitch black. Unlike his basis and the Disembodied head featured in the original concept art by Matthew Phoenix Rodriguez, he is missing his blue sailor hat.
Behavior
Disembodied starts in Character Prep 1 along with Photo-Negative Mickey. He is initially seen facing away from the camera, but will then take the following path towards the player.
If Disembodied appears in the Office making screaming, duck-like sounds, the player needs to raise the monitor and shut off a camera or hide under the desk.
History
Much like the other suits, Disembodied was generally considered friendly and helpful by the Disney staff before the Corrupti Incident. He was also curious about the world around him, as he eventually escaped into the public eye alongside other suits, resulting in said event of mass hysteria.
Unlike the other suits in the game, how Disembodied was killed during the Corrupti Incident has never been given an official explanation, however it is likely that he died in a similar fashion to Acephalous. Regardless, this resulted in Disembodied going into a blind rage after the incident.
Personality
Before the Corrupti Incident, Disembodied was considered docile and friendly towards everyone he met.
Disembodied does not speak, so it is never officially conveyed what his personality actually is in his hostile state. However, one can infer that while he is more merciful to his victims, he is definitely not on Jake's side, as he tauntingly enters the Office while screaming in order to make it harder to hear the suits.
Trivia
- Disembodied is one of the four suits who won't attack the player, the others being Pluto, Acephalous's head and Daisy Duck.
- According to the creepypasta that the game is based off of, Disembodied has a human skull inside his suit's head.
- Disembodied's quack sound is just one sound repeated with many edits of the pitch and frequency.
- "Disembodied" is an actual word of Latin origin and means to be separated from or existing without a body.
- Disembodied was intended to speed up other suits due to his loud sounds luring them towards you. However, due to issues with getting the mechanic to work due to how the AI system functioned, he instead is simply a nuisance to the player and, unlike Pluto, can be safely ignored as he doesn't block any of the other suits from the player's vision.
